Connecto
Connectco Specialised Fastener Solutions is a major distributor throughout South Africa of commodity and specialised fasteners used in the automotive, security, white goods and general manufacturing industries.
The Durban-headquartered company, which employs more than 100 people, has delivery facilities in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth with the ability to supply nationwide.
The result of a merger between major companies since 1979, including Genrics Services, Fascor Manufacturer and Central Component Distributors, Connectco’s objectives are on-time and in-full delivery reliability, best price, rapid response, Automotive Production and Development Programme ideals, research and development expertise and an integrated stock management team.
Connectco prides itself on its knowledge of the strict quality requirements associated with the sourcing, procurement and supply of specialised fasteners and all production part approval process documents required. The company also offers value-added facilities, including wire drawing and tool and die making, and also has its own plating and quality control department as well as a factory equipped with cold-forging machines for on-site manufacture.
Connectco has ISO:9001 safety management certification under its belt and is currently working towards TS16949 quality management accreditation.
A spokesperson says Connectco has attained vertical integration into the supply chains of General Motors, Bell, Toyota and Nissan, besides others. Its automotive Tier 1 customers include Benteler, BraceAble, Ramsay, Formex, Tenneco, Control Instruments and TRW.
