Bearings supplier and distributor Bearings International’s (BI’s) Durban branch stocks a range of bearings, electric motors, gearboxes, lubricants, seals, tools, and power transmission products for a range of industries.

These include food and beverage, cement and quarries, pulp and paper, port and rail, water and sanitation, sugar mills, mining, petrochemicals, and animal-feed plants, says BI Durban branch manager Trevor Veeradu.

He highlights that the main brands showcased are bearings manufacturer FAG bearings and drives specialist Bauer electric motors and gearboxes, as well as the products of structural waterproofing solutions provider FIS, bearings manufacturer INA Bearing – a division of Schaeffler Group and industrial chemicals wholesaler Rocol Lubricants.

In addition, it stocks bearings manufacturer Cooper split bearings, manufacturer and sales company Senqcia Hitachi chain, tool manufacturer Makita power tools, professional tools manufacturer Jonnesway professional tools and bearings manufacturer Link belt, as well as products from manufacturer of industrial and agricultural chains Ewart Chain, bearings manufacturer Dodge Bearings, bearings supplier KOYO and bearings solutions provider Rexnord.

Veeradu, whose engineering expertise has stood him in good stead with regard to industrial gearboxes and conveying systems, specialises in light and heavy-duty rubber belting, hydraulics and pneumatics.

“BI Durban offers support to the entire province, as well as supplying customised solutions for large-scale technical projects.”

The branch has an in-house division that refurbishes sugar mill carrier and diffuser chains, as well as assembling and supplying new chain. It also manufactures specialised sprockets to customer requirements.

He adds that additional services encompass bearing inspections and fitments, condition monitoring, customer training, gearbox repairs, and technical advice for all projects, from small to large.

ther services include bearing reconditioning, vibration analysis, specialist manufacture, on- site operations, troubleshooting, 24/7 service, design and selection.

He notes that staff members are kept up to date through ongoing training, which is also offered to customers upon request.
