Manufacturer of braking sysems for rail and commercial vehicles Knorr-Bremse has won the best brand in the commercial vehicle sector in the brakes category of publishing house EuroTransportMedia’s readers’ choice for the eighth time in a row.

Around 67% of the 10 000 readers who voted in the readers’ choice brakes category of the publishing house’s awards, did so in favour of Knorr-Bremse.

In various publications, readers’ choice participants chose their favourites in numerous categories of the commercial vehicle sector.

The broad selection included – aside from the various commercial vehicle categories – categories encompassing the sector’s components and services.

Owing to the growing number of voting participants over the years, which mostly consist of long-distance truck drivers, commercial vehicle management and workshops personnel, the awards have become symbolic of the image held by a brand in the minds of consumers, says Knorr-Bremse.

This year, the company widened its lead on its competitors by 13%.

“We are very happy to be in first place once again in this important and independent choice made by our final customers. This shows that users, especially truck drivers and forwarding agents value our impressive systems and products, which we deliver with great reliability to our customers daily,” says Knorr-Bremse member of management Dr Stephan Weng.

Knorr-Bremse is concerned with the active safety and effi- ciency of commercial vehicles across the entire life cycle. “The expertise in mechatronic control and steering systems acquired over several years, constitutes an important foundation for the positive image of the Knorr-Bremse brand.

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the readers of these specialised publications for their trust in the Knorr-Bremse brand. For us, the price is an incentive to make our customers’ commercial vehicles safer and more energy efficient through our comprehensive system expertise,” adds Weng.

The prize-giving ceremony, attended by numerous high-level representatives of the commercial vehicle industry, took place on June 18, in Stuttgart, southern Germany, and was moderated by television and radio journalist Alexandra Tapprogge.

For more than 100 years now, the Knorr-Bremse group has produced, marketed and serviced braking systems.

In the rail vehicle systems sector, the company’s product portfolio also includes intelligent door systems, heating, ventilation and cooling systems, control components and wind screen wiper systems, as well as platform screen doors, friction material and driver advisory systems.

Knorr-Bremse also offers driving simulators and e-learning systems for optimum train crew training. In the commercial vehicle systems sector, the company’s product range includes complete braking systems with driver assistance systems, as well as torsional vibration dampers, power train-related solutions and transmission control systems for enhanced energy efficiency and fuel economy.
