Stockist and distributor of premium valve brands Heaton Valves Africa’s core purpose is to provide first-class valve and associated equipment stock holding, distribution, technical consultation, training and project management services.

These services will be available in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, process, mining, power, product storage, pipeline and combustion engineering, the company explains.

Since inception, the privately owned company, along with its shareholders, who have played an active role as directors, has withstood the challenges of conglomerate-owned competitors and has grown from strength to strength.

“Currently, Heaton Africa is a 100% South African-owned company and a broad-based black economic empowerment-accredited entity. The head office in Gauteng is located in Hughes, Jet Park. The KwaZulu-Natal office was opened in Durban and ideally situated to service the coastal and Midlands areas,” Heaton Valves Africa says.

The Western Cape office was opened so the two coastal facilities could provide a fast and essential service to locally based distributor Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) and end-users requiring prompt response time and supply.

The company explains that, in 2013, both the KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town offices were moved to larger purchased premises to enable the company to hold a wider range of movable stock on hand and to enable better operational, quality control and project management capabilities.

Heaton Valves Africa has an exclusive list of sole representation agreements with many of the world’s leading valves, steam reticulation, overpressure, tank protection, combustion engineering and pipeline equipment manufacturers.

These exclusive agencies and their accompanying technological capabilities are managed and supported by highly qualified and experienced personnel in three separate and independently managed but intricately linked, company divisions. These are the petrochemicals, process and engineered products divisions. The engineered products division now includes one subdivision – combustion.

Heaton Valves Africa has always strived to achieve close inter-company working relationships with each of its manufacturing and technology principals, the company explains.

The acquisition of the sole world leader in valves Velan, designer and manufacturer Langley and valves manufacturer OMB agencies between 1998 and 2001 added depth to the petrochemicals division’s product offering of gate, globe, check and ball valves in all forged and cast steel materials from ½ inch to 48 inch bore sizes, up to over 2500# pressure class.

Heaton Valves Africa is ISO 9001 accredited. All products supplied by the company go through rigid quality control procedures using a unique inspection system known as Assettagz.

This system ensures that all end-user specifications and approvals are complied with while creating a complete audit trail of inspection criteria, the company concludes.
