German industrial control systems supplier Jetter AG has expanded its port- folio of servomotors, with the intro-duction of the new JHN series motors, in March.

“The JHN motors are, above all, noted for its space-saving design, dimensions and high torque, and are, therefore, particularly suited for use in extremely compact machines,” says Jetter AG.

“Our JHN motors enable plants and machinery to be planned more flexibly and made much smaller,” the company highlights.

“The right choice and design of servomotors is critical for the optimal use of the drive system, as well as machine performance,” explains Jetter AG product manager Gunther Raila.

“By adding the JHN motors to our product range, we now have motors that offer high-power density despite its highly compact design,” he says.

Raila explains that the JHN motors’ high-power density is made possible by an automated segment winding technology and an improved motor construction.

JetMove Servo-Amplifiers

The Jetter AG motors range in sizes from JHN2 to JHN7 and have a torque ranging from 0.28 Nm to 60 Nm, with direct current (DC) link voltages from 24 V in DC to 560 VDC.

Raila notes that, owing to Jetter AG motors possessing a choice of motor windings, it is well suited to the JetMove servo-amplifiers, such as the new JM-1000 and JM-3000 series.

The motors use the rated currents of the servo-amplifiers ranging from 3.5 A to 32 A at full capacity, offering speeds tailored to an application’s specific needs.

“Consequently, the high overload capability of the current generation of servo-amplifiers enables highly dynamic acceleration processes, even in small sizes,” says Raila, who adds that the JHN motors noticeably increase a system’s efficiency.

Moreover, he states that the JHN servomotors are noted for closer concentricity tolerance, which has a positive effect on a system’s smooth running characteristics.

“The new motors are also safety consulting and certification company Underwriters Laboratories-certified for the US and Canada. There are many options available for connector outlets, degrees of protection and encoder design. “The JHN motors can also be selected for free by users, using planetary gearboxes, specialised gearboxes and customised gear parts manufacturer Neugart’s Calculation Program design software version 3.0, which was launched in April this year,” Raila concludes.
