Columnists off the mark
Editor –
I enjoy reading Terry Mackenzie-Hoy’s and Kelvin Kemm’s columns, but not their contributions in the August 2 edition.
Kemm’s defence of the construction industry based on anti- competitive/anticollusion law only supposed to be in defence of the public is laughable. Saying that having the companies cooperate has in fact saved fighting among themselves and associated costs is euqally laughable. Because the client in this instance is govern- ment should not allow the guilty companies to get off the hook. Granted, government should probably have looked at the pricing structures a bit better, but hindsight is 20:20 perfect.
As for Mackenzie-Hoy, of late, his column has tended to be full of vitriol and bitterness. The column used to be satirical and hence quite an enjoyable read, but it seems these days he sits down and just vomits up the content. The timing of this change seems to coincide with the updating of his profile picture. Could we have the other Terry back, please?
