Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has made two key appointments to the company’s executive committee as it prepares to list as a publicly traded company and accelerates its sustainability strategy.

The Coca-Cola Company and CCBA announced in April that Africa’s biggest Coca-Cola bottler would be listed in Amsterdam and Johannesburg within 18 months, with Amsterdam as the primary exchange.

The listing is intended to deliver a broad, supportive, long-term investor base for the ongoing development of the CCBA business.

CCBA CEO Jacques Vermeulen has announced the appointment of Andrew Musingo as chief integration officer and Tshidi Ramogase as public affairs, communications and sustainability director, both with effect from August 1.

Bottling and consumer goods veteran Musingo will be integral to the team preparing the company for listing as a publicly traded company, while the seasoned Ramogase will drive CCBA’s ambitious goals in waste management, water stewardship, local sourcing, climate change and economic inclusion of youth and women, CCBA said in its statement on July 19.

Vermeulen said Musingo would be tasked with enabling key strategic objectives at CCBA, with a strong focus on rolling out and entrenching the company’s integrated operating model and supporting the transformation of CCBA to a listed company.

“He will also build linkages between group-wide projects and ensure they are integrated into a total CCBA transformation plan,” said Vermeulen, adding that Ramogase’s role is essential to deliver CCBA’s 2025 long-term ambition to overachieve on CCBA’s sustainability targets and, in the short term, to deliver on its immediate recycling commitments.

Ramogase occupied the same role at the company’s South African subsidiary since 2016, and before that at Amalgamated Beverage Industries from 2010.

She has previously worked in human resources and corporate affairs for leading multinationals across the mining and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries, including BHP Billiton, Unilever and South African Breweries.

Musingo has broad leadership experience spanning more than 25 years, across service and consumer goods industries in the US, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, including previous roles as public affairs and communications director in CCBA’s international division, and at Nairobi Bottlers under the umbrella of Coca-Cola Sabco as commercial and finance director.

Prior to his appointment as chief integration officer, Musingo was the GM of CCBA Tanzania, a position he held since January 2020.
