Consulting Engineers South Africa (Cesa) on Friday announced that Abe Thela would take over as the organisation’s president next year, succeeding Naren Bhojaram.

This followed Cesa’s annual general meeting, held in Cape Town, on Monday, where Thela said he looked forward to serving Cesa as president.

Thela, a civil engineer and the executive deputy chairperson of Nyeleti Consulting, had, for the past five years, served on various Cesa committees.

Cesa noted in a statement that Thela’s interests included municipal services provision and infrastructure development for the betterment of the lives of all South African communities.
