Global technology company CAME, a group well known in Italy and globally, has been operating in the home and building automation sector for over 40 years. Cutting-edge technologies, soundness, efficiency and design are among the principles that guide the company in the design and implementation of technological solutions designed not only to meet today’s needs, but also to anticipate future requirements.

It is with this spirit that CAME has embarked on its access to innovation projects, an ambitious path of innovation, research and development whose goal is to revolutionise the very concept of automation to create all-round technological solutions. Today, the group aims to be a global partner which, thanks to investments in research and development, can satisfy the needs of a world in which connectivity plays a key role.

CAME entered the South African market in 1994, forming a collaboration with Time Recorder & Intercom and becoming the sole distributor for the group in South Africa. The company has evolved over 20 years and, today, CAME BPT South Africa is a full subsidiary of the CAME group, with access to all systems and solutions from a worldwide network. Whether the application is residential, commercial, building or large public spaces, there is always a solution from a CAME global partner.

The South African market is unique in the world of security and local circumstances provide challenges faced by no other worldwide. CAME BPT is committed to understanding the local situation and providing solutions using the available technology in the most effective way to suit customer needs.

The company complements its product development with experienced technical and sales support that enables it to uphold the historical values of CAME, maintaining honesty and integrity with its customer base.

CAME supplies integrated technological solutions for home, business and public-venue automation that generates intelligent spaces for the wellbeing of people.

The group develops operators for entrances, home-and-building automation and burglar-proof systems, as well as video entry intercom systems, heating management systems and sectional doors for homes and factories. It also offers solutions for special, large projects and for urban decor, automatic parking management systems and parking meters for pay-to-park facilities, including entrance control and security at public venues.

Owned by the Menuzzo family, CAME is proud of its Italian heritage. The company’s head office is located in the province of Treviso, Italy, and has a capillary network of 480 branch offices and licensed distributors in 118 countries. It has six plants located across Italy, France, Spain and the UK. The company employs over 1 460 people and boasts sales of over €255-million.

“We are a global technology company, able to speak to the market with a single voice that benefits from the know-how and experience of the historic Italian and international companies, such as CAME, CAME BPT, CAME Urbaco, CAME Parkare and CAME Go, known for their respective leaderships recognised all over the world.

“CAME’s spirit has always sought to provide technology solutions to benefit people. Today, more than ever, our mission is to design technology engineered to improve people’s lives,” says CAME Group founder and president Paolo Menuzzo.

This is especially true when implementing a parking management system, since there are many objectives to consider.

“Besides the return on investment, it is also important to consider the best partner that can offer your business the level of customer experience you require. The system’s technology platform and how open it is to future expansions or new features is also an important consideration. It is also necessary to consider the required maintenance and energy consumption of the system you choose,” explains CAME BPT South Africa MD Riccardo Battaini.

Came Parkare, based in Barcelona, is specialised in the automatic parking and parking meter segment. The company boasts 3 000 off-street car parks worldwide, 20 000 on-street parking meters and guidance systems for over 60 000 parking spaces.

Came Parkare is used at the UK’s second-largest airport, Gatwick Airport, which is a transit point for over 45-million passengers each year and Barcelona Airport, in Spain, which saw 47-million passengers in 2017.

The systems are also employed at several shopping centres across Europe and the UK, Kilimanjaro International Airport, in Tanzania, and a shopping centre in Maputo, Mozambique, while, in South Africa, there is an on-street system in Durban, a mixed commercial and residential complex in Cape Town as well as a new shopping centre in Durban.

Came Parkare solutions allow the creation of a pleasant and easy experience for the customer, with ticketless solutions such as using a credit card to enter, pay and exit and using licence plate recognition as a virtual ticket.

Other benefits include paying by plate at the automatic payment station, a ‘find my car’ service, pre-booking solutions, flexible QR codes used for tickets and voucher, an advanced vehicle guidance system using video cameras and other technologies, an online discounts validation system and cross-selling opportunities, and managing advertising at the various units to promote special offers, events or information.

Came Parkare offers Internet protocol-based systems, which monitors and manages several car parks simultaneously.
