We are on the hunt for an experienced, logical and numerically minded Business Development Manager with 6+ years in the large-scale private and REIPP programme space. If you have the ability to leverage not only a mining sector network but are also a hot shot at bidding on projects in order to grow our client’s BD pipeline, then this could be your next career move!

You are the ideal candidate we are looking for if you are well versed with clean energy infrastructure projects and have an Engineering or Finance degree with an MBA under your belt. Your ability to develop and grow the company’s partnerships with developers and EPC’s will be a key differentiator. You are someone who can see the bigger picture of where your company fits into the South African market and using this view, can develop and propose new business models. Networks in the Southern African context will certainly play to your advantage as you expand the project pipeline over the REI4P limits. Expanding the company’s network and closing leads will be no challenge for you. You have outstanding interpersonal skills which will aid you in building strong rapport with current and potential partners both nationally and internationally. You are driven, highly motivated and will, without a doubt, hit the ground running. This role will see you travelling domestically and when necessary, across the African borders.

Education Requirements

• Engineering Degree is preferable followed by a Finance Degree
• Degree in Business Management is beneficial
• MBA is beneficial

Experience Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience in a development role
• Previous business development experience in the Captive IPP Commercial and Industrial space or in REIPP

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include business development, liaising with shareholders as well as expanding the company’s shareholder network, develop and propose new business models to enhance the company’s position within the South African market and create strong rapport with current and potential partners.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of your outstanding presentation abilities
• Robust interpersonal skills in order to expand the company’s network
• IT proficient, especially with MS Suite
• Strong reporting ability
