Busa elects Mohale president, Gore VP
Business organisation Business Unity South Africa (Busa) has, during its annual general meeting, elected Bonang Mohale as its new president and Adrian Gore as its new VP.
Mohale is the University of the Free State chancellor, JSE-listed diversified services firm Bidvest Group chairperson and has served as business organisation Business Leadership South Africa CEO. He has also held executive positions at various large, multinational organisations.
Gore is a businessperson and entrepreneur and is the founder and CEO of medical insurer Discovery Holdings.
"They both come with impeccable credentials and possess the organisational and strategic experience and skills critical for business and the country. They join the organisation at a critical time in our country," says Busa CEO Cas Coovadia.
"South Africa is facing an economic and social crisis, with a stagnant economy, a fiscal deficit, high unemployment, significant poverty and inequality.
"We also faced a significant crisis of instability and unrest over a month ago, with a great deal of damage to property, loss of lives and racial tensions. We are also amid a third-wave of the Covid-19 pandemic."
Busa thanks [former president] Sipho Pityana and [former VP] Martin Kingston for their hard work to reposition the organisation as a credible voice of business.
"We are confident the new Busa leadership will continue with the excellent efforts demonstrated by Sipho and Martin and add their own dynamism, experience and wisdom," says Coovadia.
