a.b.e. Construction Chemicals is a major supplier of specialised construction products to the building, civil engineering and building maintenance industries.

Rustopak

abe’s Rustopak range is categorised as a high performance anti-corrosion sealant technology.  These specialised formulations protect metal and concrete against natural degradation processes caused by corrosive agents, such as moisture, salt, acid and oxygen. The coatings and sealants are also formulated to protect infrastructure where chemicals contaminate industrial and manufacturing environments.

abe Rustopak Red Penetrant Sealant

This formulation is used for superior wetting in high-corrosion or inaccessible areas such as splice plates, rockers, box construction design and pack rust.

abe Rustopak red penetrant sealant is a low volatile organic compound  (VOC), penetrating liquid and is used in conjunction with abe Rustopak top coat. It is a single component, specifically compounded system that is
applied over surfaces with tightly adhered rust. It can be applied to sealed-off areas without dismantling the equipment being treated.

abe Rustopak Top Coat

This low VOC, active rust-inhibitive sealant is used as a single coat, direct-to-metal that is not necessarily rustfree. abe Rustopak top coat can be used on structural steel with tightly adhered rust, free of contaminants
like oil, grease or salt, and can also be
applied to contaminant-free concrete. It is applied as a topcoat over abe Rustopak red penetrant sealant, to provide ultra
violet protection and colour.

Advantages

abe Rustopak’s joint sealing system provides long-term protection of structural steel exposed to severe corrosion, salt air and UV light. The sealants are surface tolerant and offer single-package convenience.

The active sealants provide superior penetration and adhesion over existing coatings and unblasted steel surfaces. abe Rustopak can be applied on site as maintenance coatings or to repair and seal aged and weathered steel structures. The products do not require the complete removal of existing coatings and corrosion, offering significant cost savings.
