The project proposes the construction of the 132/11 kV Walvis Bay indoor substation, which includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of five 40 MVA 132/11 kV transformers; 132 kV gas insulated switchgear; 11 kV gas insulated switchgear; all primary plant connections, clamps conductor, busbars and steel structures; and MV cables, auxiliary transformers and complete auxiliary power.

NamPower has invited tenders for the construction of the 132/11 kV Walvis Bay indoor substation.
The tender will be conducted in two stages. The first stage entails the submission of a technical proposal only. Financial proposals are then requested only from tenderers found to be qualified, technically compliant and commercially responsive.

The scope of work includes all earthworks, building, structural and civil works relating to the construction of the substation yard, as well as building and other civil works components, including air conditioning, ventilation, lighting and small power, plumbing, drainage inside and outside the building and oil sump.

The closing date for the submission of tenders is March 14, 2014.
