State-owned freight utility Transnet has appointed Mark Gregg-Macdonald acting CFO following the resignation of acting CFO Mohammed Mahomedy.
The utility is in the process of recruiting a permanent group CFO.
Transnet chairperson Dr Popo Molefe said Mahomedy helped steer the utility through some turbulent times, while leaving a legacy of good governance and sound financial systems.
Additionally, Molefe said Mahomedy had contributed great insight to the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.
