As one of the largest producers of polyurethane sealants and adhesives for global construction and industrial applications, Sika is in control of the whole manufacturing process, from pre-polymers to adhesives enabling innovation from its roots. The natural superiority of polyurethane for many uses lies in its unique microstructure of flexible and hard phases, which can be adjusted according to requirements. Sika sealants are tested against the highest global standards, giving us some of the most highly certified sealants in the world market.

One may ask why is joint sealing important. The explanation is that the building blocks of your construction - like the concrete slab, the glass facade element, the roofing membrane, the metal cover - generally do not let water, moisture or air enter the building or structure. It is at the joints where a building is weakest to leakage. A fact from Source Energy states that homes can lose as much as 40% of their heating and cooling energy through cracks and gaps in the building envelope. Only correctly specified and professionally applied high quality joint sealants will manage to keep your building or structure sustainably tight during its entire lifespan, Sika being one of those acclaimed sealants.

From simple envelopes, to building interiors and below-ground structures – we supply all kinds of waterproof joints. All Sika products are the result of years of experience, outstanding research and committed development capabilities. They are further enhanced by Sika’s continuous adaptation to the needs of our markets, and an improvement in modern construction materials and practices, as well as state of the art production sites.

In South Africa, our trusted, favourite joint sealants are Sikaflex® AT Façade, Sikaflex®-11 FC+ and Sikaflex® PRO-3.

Sikaflex® AT Façade is Sika’s top-quality sealant for facade joints. This especially so where a low modulus sealant is required to allow a high level of movement. Adding to its popularity in the market, is its very good workability, its solvent-free, and can be painted over.

Sikaflex®-11 FC+ is a 1-part, multipurpose elastic adhesive and joint sealant. It has great application properties, bonding and sealing most construction material substrates. It is renowned for its movement capability of ±35 %, its good bonding to defined substrates without surface pre-treatment, and has good mechanical and weathering resistance.

Sikaflex® PRO-3 is a 1-component, moisture-curing, elastic joint sealant. With its superior mechanical and chemical resistance, it is a popular choice for high-performance sealing of floor joints and civil engineering applications. Sikaflex® PRO-3 allows for movement capability of ± 35% (ASTM C 719), has very high mechanical and chemical resistance, and has bubble-free curing.

Sikaflex® is the trusted brand in the construction industry.
