Equipment supplier expands, diversifies product offering

Local industrial cleaning equipment supplier Goscor Cleaning Equipment (GCE) has introduced a new indus- trial vacuum cleaning product range to its existing equipment offering.

The company already stocks the new range of Delfin single-phase 220 V and three-phase 380 V industrial vacuum cleaners and reports that the range has made a positive impact in the market so far.

GCE product manager Graeme Kruger says the single-phase versions are versatile and can be used in commercial and industrial sectors, while the 380 V versions are suitable for continuous use in heavy-duty industries, as well as in hazardous, dusty and explosive environments.

The Delfin range has also been boosted by the addition of the Hi-Vac range of vacuum cleaners, which include diesel- powered units and truck-mounted units.

The machines, which are imported from Italy, are rugged and, with the appropriate maintenance, have a life span of up to 20 or 30 years.

In addition, the vacuum cleaners can be fitted with a high-efficiency particulate air filtration unit, which removes 99.9% of unwanted particles.

Kruger says the company has received positive feedback about the machines and has high expectations for the new products.

Further, GCE has also introduced Italian-manufactured Maer high-pressure water cleaners to strengthen its range of high-pressure cleaning equipment.

The new cleaners can be used in various applications, such as car and fleet washes, as well as logistics, engineering and mining operations. The products operate at between 12 000 kPa and 45 000 kPa, with a flow rate of between 10 ℓ/m and 41 ℓ/m.

Another significant expansion is the company’s acquisition of Elgin Crosswind industrial sweepers to expand its rental product offering.

The Elgin Crosswind is a versatile, flexible and highly productive sweeper, which uses a recirculating vacuum sweeper to efficiently clean large, flat paved areas, such as streets, parking lots and airport runways.

GCE business unit Goscor Rental Company (GRC) GM Greg Venter says the machine is globally competitive as it is extremely efficient and cost-effective. “The company believes that demand for the product will be high, especially in the rental market, as the capital cost for outright purchase is substantial,” says Venter.

He adds the sweeper is durable and easy to maintain, making it cost-effective to rent for cleaning contractors, municipalities, corporates and construction companies.

The company reports the product is also successful on construction sites.
Further, the Crosswind’s ergonomic design enables the operator to sweep in a safe, comfortable manner. The machine is mounted on the short wheelbase chassis of either conventional or cab-over chassis. It is operated by simple rocker switches and comes with a complete set of gauges.
Venter explains the sweeper has a large hopper and water tank, which, combined with a fuel-efficient engine, enables the machine to work for longer periods as trips between dumping, rewatering and fuelling sites are reduced.
The acquisition is part of GRC’s plan to expand and replace its industrial cleaning equipment fleet. “The company is not only expanding its range but also replacing its older fleet with new, advanced equipment. This gives us the confidence to continue offering our customers high levels of service in a buoyant market,” says Venter.

Meanwhile, GCE supplied pipe cleaning and management company Sight Lines Pipe Survey Services with two Vactor 2110 combination-jetting machines in May. The equipment is estimated to have a value of more than R6-million.

The machines are used to dislodge blockages and build-ups from pipes. It also generates enough flow to carry the dislodged material to a point where a vacuum can remove the debris.

These machines are equipped with a 10 m2 hopper, a dual-fan configuration for increased suction power, a front-mounted hose reel and a telescopic vacuum boom for accessibility.

The machines have hydraulic pumps, which generate a hammer action at the end of the nozzle. This configuration is suitable for cleaning sewer systems, stormwater systems and culverts.
