“We have a young, dynamic team with over 35 years of combined experience ready to offer product-related advice and provide helpful, efficient service,” explains Raubenheimer. The branch has customers ranging from engineering to manufacturing and mining and has experienced a steady flow of new customers since opening in March this year.
The branch stocks a wide range of lifting and rigging equipment, including open-link chains, steel-wire rope, loadbinders, shackles, clamps, eye bolts and nuts and all associated Grade 80 hooks and fittings. The branch also provides testing and re-certification services and are able to manufacture SWR slings up to 76 mm.
“Our product range will soon be expanded to include chain blocks and lever hoist,” says Raubenheimer. He adds that after an extensive search, a manufacturer was found that was able to provide a product with good safety features at competitive prices. Modifications were made to suit the company’s specifications and tests have been carried out on the products.
The company is a DNV-approved ISO 9001:2000 quality-management company, having attained its ISO 9002 rating in December 2000, and updating to the new system in 2003. “Through the principles of the ISO system, we have set measurable goals to evaluate customer service and product quality,” he says. Raubenheimer concludes by saying that the company has experienced significant growth in the last 10 years through the marine and offshore mooring industries. “We look forward to continuing this into the lifting and rigging market in Southern Africa,” he adds.
