As Africa’s energy sector evolves and transitions, there seem to be more questions than answers. Enlit Africa will be hosting a precursor event between 26 and 28 October which will set the stage for the live edition in June 2022.
As the power sector integrates the move to a new energy paradigm and the 5Ds of the energy transition, we will be considering how Africa will chart it’s energy blueprint, with a focus on turning strategy into implementation. In order to reach a NetZero future by 2050, what will need to be done to decarbonise the power sector in Africa and how will the practical implementation of renewable energy be undertaken? Is the role of gas as a transitional fuel a practical solution for Africa and if so, what needs to be done to get the ball rolling? What are the next steps to ensuring grid and institutional resilience, sustainability and security?
Enlit Africa will bring a focus to these and other important discussions for the energy sector as utilities and other sector stakeholders embrace and progress the energy transition with one important focus – moving beyond theory to implementation.
