Company Announcement - Cortec® has published the NEW “VpCI® Technology for Oil and Gas Industry”. This brochure provides state-of-the-art information on Cortec’s patented VpCI® technology and details products and services offered to our customers and clients globally in the oil and gas industry. Cortec’s diverse set of services and products can be utilized in upstream, midstream, and downstream businesses. The brochure also explains the value of Cortec® Global Services and Cortec® Field Services in the challenging environments of the oil and gas industry. The buyer’s guide included on the final pages expands upon the industry leading product descriptions, applications, and dosage information necessary to choose your corrosion protection solution.

The oil and gas industry has presented difficult challenges to researchers in fighting the effects of corrosion - in economic loss and environmental safety. The total annual cost of corrosion in the oil and gas production industry is estimated to be $1.372 billion, more specifically $589 million in surface pipeline and facility costs, $463 million annually in downhole tubing expenses, and another $320 million in capital expenditures related to corrosion. Cortec’s high quality, environmentally friendly, corrosion prevention solutions offer efficient and economical protection for oil and gas applications. Cortec® products have been developed using patented proprietary VpCI® Technology. VpCI’s are a safe, cost-effective method for preventing and diminishing the severe damage caused by corrosive process streams. Utilizing Cortec’s corrosion inhibiting products will help companies within the oil and gas industries to comply with safety, health, and environmental policies as well as reduce unplanned maintenance and deferment costs.

Cortec’s VpCI® technology offers an environmentally safe method of treatment with low toxicity and pol¬luting effects. Unlike corrosion inhibiting systems of the past, Cortec® products do not contain chromates or other heavy metals, nitrites, or chlorinated hydrocarbons. With the support of our cor¬rosion scientists, engineers, and accredited testing facility, Cortec® can provide simple, environ¬mentally friendly, and cost-effective solutions to your corrosion problems.

In a rapidly growing market, Cortec® continues to lead in the oil and gas industry with its innovative corrosion control products. Many of these unique products conform to ASTM G 1, ATMS G3 Standard Test Methods, NACE Standard TM-01-64 for Laboratory Corrosion Testing of Metal for the Process Industries, and NACE Standard TM 0169-95 for Laboratory Corrosion Testing of Metals.

With years of experience and knowledge, Cortec® understands the needs of the market. In order to facilitate and achieve success, the main purpose of this brochure is to provide our clients with up to date information.  In order for Cortec® to be able to continue to facilitate and ensure that its customers’ needs are met efficiently, we provide:
