Teck

Teck is a Canadian diversified mining and mineral development company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company operates across multiple commodities, with core business segments including copper, zinc, steelmaking coal and energy assets. Teck is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol TECK. Its operations span Canada, the United States, Chile and Peru, with major producing assets including copper mines in Chile and steelmaking coal operations in British Columbia and Alberta. The company is one of the world's largest producers of steelmaking coal and a significant copper producer. Teck employs thousands of people across its global operations and generates billions of dollars in annual revenue. Major assets include the Highland Valley Copper mine in British Columbia, the Quebrada Blanca copper mine in Chile and multiple steelmaking coal operations in western Canada. The company has been developing the Jansen potash project in Saskatchewan, one of the world's largest undeveloped potash resources. Teck was formed through the 2001 merger of Teck Corporation and Cominco and has evolved through strategic acquisitions and divestitures to focus on base metals and steelmaking coal.
