Suzuki

Suzuki is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and outboard marine engines. The company is headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan, and operates manufacturing and sales facilities across Asia, Europe, North America and other global markets. Suzuki Motor Corporation is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is one of Japan's major automotive manufacturers. The company is known for producing compact cars, small SUVs and light commercial vehicles, with popular models including the Swift, Vitara, Jimny and Alto. Suzuki has a significant presence in emerging markets, particularly in India where it operates through majority-owned subsidiary Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest passenger vehicle manufacturer. In South Africa, Suzuki sells passenger cars and light commercial vehicles through an established dealer network. The company's global strategy emphasises fuel-efficient, affordable vehicles suited to urban and developing-market conditions. Suzuki also maintains a strong position in the motorcycle segment worldwide. The corporation was founded in 1909 as a loom manufacturer before diversifying into motorised vehicles in the mid-twentieth century.
