Standard Bank South Africa

Standard Bank South Africa is the South African operating entity of Standard Bank Group, one of Africa's largest financial services organisations. The bank provides a full range of banking and financial services to individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, corporates and institutions across South Africa. Standard Bank South Africa is headquartered in Johannesburg and operates an extensive branch and digital banking network throughout the country. The bank's core business lines include personal and business banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth management and insurance. Standard Bank South Africa plays a significant role in financing infrastructure, energy and industrial projects, including renewable-energy developments under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). The bank is a major lender to independent power producers and works alongside development finance institutions such as the Industrial Development Corporation to structure project finance for large-scale energy and infrastructure assets. Standard Bank South Africa is a subsidiary of Standard Bank Group, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and operates in more than 20 African countries. The bank employs tens of thousands of people in South Africa and is a systemically important financial institution in the country's economy. Standard Bank was founded in 1862 and has grown to become a cornerstone of South Africa's banking sector, with a strong presence in trade finance, foreign exchange and capital markets.
