Sean Phillips

Sean Phillips is a South African business leader and executive associated with Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA), an organisation representing major corporations operating in the country. He holds a senior position within BLSA, contributing to the body's engagement with government on economic policy, infrastructure development and regulatory reform. Phillips has been particularly vocal on issues affecting municipal service delivery, including water infrastructure and municipal finance, areas critical to South Africa's economic stability and business environment. His role involves advocating for improved governance, accountability and operational efficiency in public institutions, especially at local government level. Through BLSA, he participates in initiatives such as Operation Vulindlela, a joint effort between the Presidency and National Treasury to accelerate structural reforms. Phillips frequently engages with Cabinet ministers, regulatory bodies and oversight institutions including the Auditor-General and the Special Investigating Unit on matters affecting the investment climate.
