Nissan South Africa

Nissan South Africa is the South African subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company, the Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer. The company assembles, distributes and markets Nissan vehicles in South Africa and neighbouring markets in southern Africa. Nissan South Africa operates a manufacturing plant in Rosslyn, Gauteng, which produces light commercial vehicles and passenger cars for domestic sale and export. The Rosslyn facility has been a key production site for Nissan's bakkie range, including the NP200 and NP300 Hardbody models, which are popular in the South African market. The company also assembles the Navara pickup truck, a significant portion of which is exported to markets across Africa and beyond. Nissan South Africa is an important participant in South Africa's automotive manufacturing sector and a member of the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa. The subsidiary engages with organised labour, including the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, and with the Automobile Manufacturers Employers Organisation on industrial relations matters. Nissan South Africa contributes to the country's automotive export programme and benefits from government incentives aimed at supporting vehicle production and local content development.
