NAACAM

NAACAM (National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers) is a South African industry body representing the interests of automotive component manufacturers and allied suppliers in the country. The organisation serves as the collective voice for companies involved in the production of original equipment components, replacement parts and allied products for the automotive sector. NAACAM's mandate includes promoting the competitiveness and sustainability of the local automotive component manufacturing industry through advocacy, policy engagement and stakeholder collaboration. The association works closely with government departments, original equipment manufacturers and other industry stakeholders to address challenges facing the sector, including localisation, skills development and the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies. NAACAM plays a key role in facilitating dialogue between its members and policymakers on matters such as trade policy, industrial incentives and regulatory frameworks affecting the automotive value chain. The organisation also supports its members through initiatives focused on transformation, enterprise development and the transition to new automotive technologies, including electric vehicles and Industry 4.0 manufacturing processes. NAACAM represents a significant portion of South Africa's automotive component manufacturing base, which forms a critical part of the country's broader automotive industry. The association was established to strengthen the sector's collective bargaining power and to ensure that component manufacturers remain integral to South Africa's automotive production ecosystem.
