Mitsui

Mitsui is a Japanese conglomerate and one of the world's largest general trading companies, known as a sogo shosha. Headquartered in Tokyo, the company operates across a diverse range of sectors including metals, machinery, chemicals, energy, food, logistics and infrastructure. Mitsui traces its origins to the seventeenth century, making it one of Japan's oldest business enterprises, and has evolved into a global trading and investment powerhouse with operations in more than 60 countries. The group is structured around multiple business units that engage in trading, manufacturing, resource development and financial services. Key activities include iron ore and coal mining, oil and gas exploration, automotive components, industrial machinery and infrastructure projects.
