Metair

Metair is a South African automotive components manufacturer and supplier specialising in energy storage solutions and related products. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg and operates across sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and other international markets. Metair is listed on the JSE Limited and forms part of the industrials sector. Its core business centres on the design, manufacture and distribution of automotive batteries, as well as components for original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket. The group holds significant market positions in both the African and European automotive battery markets through its operating subsidiaries and joint ventures. Metair's portfolio includes leading battery brands and manufacturing facilities in multiple countries, including South Africa, Romania and other European locations. The company also produces automotive components such as battery management systems and related electrical products. Metair has pursued a strategy of geographic diversification and vertical integration to strengthen its position in the global automotive supply chain.
