Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a German luxury automotive manufacturer that produces premium passenger cars, commercial vehicles and luxury coaches. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, and operates manufacturing facilities and sales operations across six continents. Mercedes-Benz is a division of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, which was formerly known as Daimler AG until 2022. The brand is recognised globally for its engineering excellence, safety innovation and luxury positioning in the automotive market. Core product lines include the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class sedans, the GLE and GLC sport utility vehicles, the AMG performance range and the EQ electric vehicle family. Mercedes-Benz maintains a significant presence in South Africa, where it operates a manufacturing plant in East London that produces right-hand-drive vehicles for domestic and export markets. The company competes in the premium segment against brands such as BMW, Audi and Lexus. Mercedes-Benz has been a pioneer in automotive safety technology, introducing innovations such as antilock braking systems, electronic stability control and advanced driver-assistance systems. The brand was created through the merger of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's companies in 1926, forming Daimler-Benz AG, and has since become one of the world's most valuable automotive marques.
