Lerato Mataboge

Lerato Mataboge is a South African business executive and economist who serves in a senior leadership role within the financial services sector. She is associated with Standard Bank Group, one of Africa's largest banking institutions, where she contributes to strategic initiatives related to infrastructure development, economic growth and regional integration across the continent. Her work focuses on areas including infrastructure financing, energy sector development, transport corridors and skills development programmes that support job creation and economic transformation. Mataboge has been involved in discussions and initiatives concerning major African infrastructure projects, including cross-border transport corridors such as the Lobito Corridor, which links mineral-rich regions of central Africa to Atlantic ports. She engages with multilateral organisations, development agencies and business forums to advance investment in critical infrastructure and human capital development across sub-Saharan Africa. Her expertise spans economic policy, development finance and the intersection of private sector investment with public infrastructure priorities.
