Kinross Gold

Kinross Gold is a Canadian senior gold-mining company with operations and projects across the Americas, West Africa and Russia. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and is listed on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. Kinross operates a diversified portfolio of mines, including facilities in the United States, Brazil, Chile, Mauritania and Ghana. The company produces more than two-million ounces of gold annually, making it one of the world's larger gold producers. Kinross employs approximately 9 000 people globally across its mining operations, exploration projects and corporate offices. The company's principal assets include the Tasiast mine in Mauritania, the Paracatu mine in Brazil and the Round Mountain mine in the United States. Kinross also produces silver as a by-product at several of its operations. The company has a strong focus on operational efficiency, cost management and responsible mining practices. Kinross was formed in the 1990s and has grown through strategic acquisitions and the development of greenfield projects. The company has periodically divested non-core assets to focus on its most profitable and long-life operations.
