John Thompson

John Thompson is a South African engineering and manufacturing company specialising in boilers, heat-recovery systems and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment for industrial and power-generation applications. The company is headquartered in South Africa and operates primarily in the energy and heavy-industry sectors. John Thompson designs, manufactures and services water-tube boilers, waste-heat-recovery boilers, economisers and related pressure-vessel equipment for clients in mining, power generation, petrochemicals and other process industries. It is a subsidiary of ACTOM, the South African electrical-engineering and energy group. The company supplies both new equipment and aftermarket services, including maintenance, refurbishment and upgrades of existing plant. John Thompson has a long-established presence in the southern African market and exports to other regions in Africa and beyond. Its product range supports thermal power stations, industrial steam-raising plants and energy-efficiency projects. The company was founded in the early twentieth century and has been a significant player in South Africa's industrial and power infrastructure development for decades.
