IDC

The IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) is a South African state-owned development finance institution that promotes economic growth and industrial development. Established in 1940, the corporation operates under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition and is mandated to support entrepreneurship and the creation of sustainable competitive industries and enterprises. The IDC provides financing solutions to businesses across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, mining, agriculture, tourism and renewable energy. It focuses particularly on projects that contribute to job creation, economic empowerment and regional development, with a strong emphasis on supporting small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) and black-owned businesses.
