ENGIE

ENGIE is a French multinational energy company specialising in electricity generation, natural gas, renewable energy and energy services. The company is headquartered in La Défense, near Paris, and operates in more than 30 countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. ENGIE is listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange and is a constituent of the CAC 40 index. Its core activities include power generation from renewable and low-carbon sources, energy infrastructure development, and the supply of electricity and gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The company has positioned itself as a leader in the global energy transition, with significant investments in wind, solar, hydroelectric power and battery storage technologies. ENGIE also develops and operates electricity transmission infrastructure, including independent transmission projects that support the integration of renewable energy into national grids. The company reported revenues exceeding €90-billion in recent years and employs about 96 000 people worldwide. ENGIE was formed in 2008 through the merger of Gaz de France and Suez, consolidating decades of experience in energy and utilities. It has since expanded its renewable energy portfolio and divested from coal-fired generation as part of its decarbonisation strategy.
