DP World

DP World is a global port operator and logistics company that develops and manages marine terminals, ports and related infrastructure. The company is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and operates a portfolio of more than 80 marine and inland terminals across six continents. DP World handles cargo including containers, bulk commodities and general cargo, providing integrated logistics solutions that connect supply chains from origin to destination. The company is one of the world's largest container terminal operators by throughput and plays a significant role in global trade flows. DP World is majority-owned by the Government of Dubai through Port and Free Zone World, and its ordinary shares are listed on Nasdaq Dubai. The group employs tens of thousands of people worldwide and generates annual revenue in the billions of dollars. In Africa, DP World has invested in port concessions and terminal operations in several countries, including Mozambique, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and Somaliland. The company was established in 2005 following the merger of Dubai Ports Authority and Dubai Ports International, and has since expanded through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of P&O Ports in 2006.
