DHL

DHL is a global logistics and courier company that provides international express mail services, freight transportation, supply chain management and e-commerce solutions. The company is headquartered in Bonn, Germany, and operates in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. DHL is a division of Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world's largest logistics company. The company's core services include international shipping, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution, with a strong focus on cross-border trade and time-definite delivery. DHL maintains a significant presence in sub-Saharan Africa, where it serves major markets including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia and Malawi through a network of offices, hubs and distribution centres. The company employs hundreds of thousands of people globally and operates a fleet of aircraft, vehicles and logistics facilities. DHL's brand is divided into several business units, including DHL Express for international courier services, DHL Global Forwarding for air and ocean freight, DHL Supply Chain for contract logistics, and DHL eCommerce Solutions. The company was founded in 1969 in San Francisco by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn, whose surnames formed the DHL acronym, and has since grown through expansion and acquisition to become one of the world's leading logistics providers.
