Cameco

Cameco is a Canadian uranium producer and one of the world's largest publicly traded uranium companies. The company is headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and operates uranium mines and processing facilities primarily in northern Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, one of the richest uranium districts globally. Cameco is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. Its core business includes uranium mining, refining and conversion services, with key operations including the Cigar Lake and McArthur River mines, both located in the Athabasca Basin. The company supplies uranium concentrate to nuclear power utilities in markets including the United States, Europe and Asia. Cameco also holds interests in fuel services through its stake in refining and conversion facilities. The company has positioned itself as a strategic supplier in the global nuclear fuel cycle, benefiting from renewed interest in nuclear energy as a low-carbon baseload power source. Cameco's market position and production capacity make it a significant player in the uranium sector, with its operations closely watched as indicators of broader uranium market trends. The company was established in 1988 through the merger of three Saskatchewan Crown corporations and has since grown through acquisitions and development of high-grade uranium deposits in Canada.
