Airlink

Airlink is a South African regional airline that operates scheduled passenger and cargo services across southern Africa and beyond. The carrier is headquartered in Johannesburg and serves an extensive network of destinations within South Africa, as well as routes to neighbouring countries including Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. Airlink operates as an independent airline following its separation from South African Airways in 2020, having previously functioned as a franchise partner. The airline positions itself as a key connector for regional business and leisure travel, linking smaller cities and provincial centres to major hubs. Its fleet comprises regional aircraft suited to shorter routes and secondary airports, enabling it to serve markets underserved by larger carriers. Airlink has expanded its Mozambique network significantly, offering flights to cities such as Maputo, Beira, Pemba, Vilanculos, Nacala and Nampula, supporting both tourism and trade along corridors such as the Nacala Corridor. The airline also operates international routes extending to destinations in West Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. Airlink's strategy emphasises connectivity, frequency and access to emerging markets, making it a significant player in regional aviation. The company was established in 1992 and has grown to become one of southern Africa's largest independent regional carriers.
