Article Headline: W Cape at high risk during Koeberg refuelling, but blackouts 'unlikely'
Abstract: The Western Cape's electricity system would be at high risk between mid-August and mid-October, when a Koeberg unit would be shut down for refuelling, State-owned power utility Eskom warned on Thursday. "The risk will be high for about two months," spokesperson Fani Zulu said, but added that load shedding and power outages were unlikely. The region’s electricity supply would only come under threat in the event of a second major event, such as the shutdown of Koeberg’s second unit, or if one of the transmission lines carrying power from Mpumalanga to the Western Cape tripped.
