Article Headline:
SA to be hub in ABB’s assault on Africa’s ‘enormous’ power, resources potential
Abstract:
Despite challenging market conditions in South Africa, global power and automation technologies group ABB has selected the country as one of two hubs from which it will pursue an even more aggressive assault on the African market, which has been selected as a key future growth jurisdiction – the other continental hub will be Egypt, in North Africa. The group, which reported global revenues of $37.9-billion for 2011, during which its order backlog rose to a record $40-billion, was specifically targeting territories such as Africa, which are expected to expand at rates above 4% a year.
