Name of the Project
Yamal liquefied natural gas (LNG) project.

Location
The project is located in the South Tambey gas and condensate field, located on the Yamal peninsula, in Siberia, Russia.

Client
The project is operated by Yamal LNG Company, owned by Russian independent gas producer Novatek (50.1%), Total (20%), CNPC (20%) and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%).

Project Description
The Yamal project is one of the biggest LNG projects in the world, with reserves of 4.6-billion barrels of oil equivalent. 

At full capacity, the three-train facility will supply 16.5-million tons of LNG a year and up to 1.2-million tons a year of gas condensate to Asian and European markets.

Potential Job Creation
The construction of the first train and logistics facilities was successfully completed, with more than 30 000 personnel actively involved on site at peak.

Value
The project is estimated at $27-billion.

Duration
The first LNG train was commissioned in December 2017.

The second and third trains will be commissioned in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Latest Developments
The hook-up and commissioning of trains 2 and 3 are in progress.
