When transferring hazardous chemicals, a leak-free solution is crucial.

Compatibility is Important- Verderflex hoses provide compatibility with many different chemicals, including sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, cyanide, plating solutions, catalytic agents, sulfuric acid, and many organic solvents and resins.

A key design feature is that the fluid being pumped is entirely contained with the pumps hose or tube.  This provides total fluid containment without the need for mechanical seals or valves. A wide variety of hose types provide extensive flexibility in terms of chemical compatibility.

The Peristaltic Hose Pump Features - Peristaltic pumps, by their very nature can run dry and are self-priming. They have low maintenance costs with easily replaceable hoses to ensure short downtimes. These peristaltic pumps can be used as dosing and/or metering pumps due to their high accuracy and repeatability.

Dosing and pH Balance- Peristaltic hose pumps are used extensively to remove phosphates from industrial effluent in the UK before it is released into the environment. This requires accurate dosing of iron sulphate or iron chloride. Accurate dosing is important to remove the phosphates without adding excess iron salts, as this would lead to increased iron content in the effluent. In concert with this process, the final effluent must be pH balanced prior to release, usually by adding sodium hydroxide or lime. Again, it’s obvious that accurate dosing is crucial so that the final effluent falls within the pH limits prescribed by the UK EPA.

These Verderflex peristaltic hose pumps have been used extensively in Africa and around the world for dosing applications.
