PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Nickel miner Western Areas has announced that its founding shareholder and nonexecutive chairperson, Terry Streeter, would step down with immediate effect.
Streeter said the decision came as he was seeking new challenges, and wanted to focus on other investments in the emerging end of the resources sector, with an emphasis on South America and other overseas jurisdictions.
The Western Areas board has unanimously elected Ian MacIver as an independent nonexecutive chairperson.
MacIver has been a nonexecutive director at Western Areas since 2011, and was appointed lead independent nonexecutive director in 2013.
