Project Description
The 33 MW wind project has been selected as part of the expanded fourth bid window under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.

The development will feature ten wind turbines, each with a hub height of 117 m, a rotor diameter of 126 m and a rated capacity output of 3.3 MW.

The wind farm will be connected to the grid through a dedicated 66 kV power line and a new on-site substation.

According to documentation submitted to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa for the project, construction of the wind project is expected to start in the third quarter of this year, with commissioning of the first unit expected in the second quarter of 2017.
