PERTH (miningweekly.com) – West Australian gold miner Ramelius Resources reported a slight drop in quarter-on-quarter production for the three months to March 31, despite the Vivien operation coming online during the quarter.

The Mt Magnet operation delivered 9 356 oz of gold during the quarter under review, compared with the 11 834 oz delivered in the previous quarter, while production from the Kathleen Valley mine remained consistent at around 15 501 oz.

The Vivien gold mine delivered 1 800 oz of gold during the March quarter, as project development advanced.

The Vivien project was expected to deliver a total of 109 000 oz of gold over a mine life of 30 months.

With the addition of Vivien to the Ramelius production profile, the gold miner on Thursday said that gold production for the June quarter was expected to reach between 28 000 oz and 32 000 oz, with all-in sustaining costs (AISC) expected to be in the region of A$1 175/oz.

AISC for the March quarter was recorded at A$1 196/oz.

Meanwhile, quarterly gold sales reached A$39.9-million during the March quarter, with gold prices averaging A$1 586/oz. This was slightly above the average sales price of A$1 564/oz achieved in the previous quarter.
