US-based NRG Renew last month announced its acquisition of South Africa’s Kayema Energy Solutions as part of its strategy to strengthen its capabilities in South Africa.
NRG Renew Africa commercial and industrial VP Dino Petrarolo tells Engineering News that NRG chose to acquire Kayema’s understanding of the commercial and industrial sectors’ energy requirements, as well as the Kayema team’s capabilities and client network.
NRG Renew Africa executive chairperson Grant Pattison says South African CEOs need to have a strategic plan to respond to the short-term supply challenges and the long-term energy-cost and environmental-impact challenges.
“We are positioning ourselves to assist CEOs in developing those strategies.”
