Truck handover for eThekwini

(Virtual Showroom): In September 2022, Werner Pumps handed over eight of its locally manufactured high-powered jetting and vacuuming truck units to a contractor to the eThekwini Municipality. The vehicles, which will be used for sewer and stormwater maintenance, form part of a much larger fleet contract for 147 vehicles. Werner Pumps also trained the customer’s operators on safe handling of the vehicles to ensure they remain in good operating condition once in use.

The eight trucks are Werner Hippo Jetting 5.000l units. They each come fitted with a Werner high-pressure piston plunger pump with a Maximum output pressure of 250-bar.

“These jetting units will hopefully assist the eThekwini municipality and its wastewater contractor in maintaining sewer lines and improving service delivery,” says Sebastian Werner, MD of Werner Pumps. “It was great to have our team at the handover to show the operators all the features of the vehicles, from the failsafe control panel to the water filtration capability, right down to the small hand-operated hose reel that allows the user to clean manholes and work areas before commencement of cleaning (as well as cleaning of the actual jetting unit once cleaning has been completed). It’s always great to be involved with the handovers, and to see the customer’s reaction. We hope to help service many more municipalities – both directly and via contractors – throughout South Africa.”
