The Department of Tourism has issued a request for proposals from experienced tourism management agencies capable of operating and managing a tourist accommodation facility on behalf of the Valoyi Tribal Authority at Nwamitwa, in Limpopo.

The Khalanga Guest Lodge, which was funded by the department and managed by youth and community development consultants Second Generation, comprised a presidential accommodation suite, four luxury chalets, ten standard chalets, 16 new bedrooms, a boardroom and meeting facilities, a 1 000-seater hall, a refreshment kiosk, a swimming pool and landscaping.

The department outlined in a tender document that management companies would be shortlisted and selected based on the overall merits of their proposals, which should include a clear discussion of the operational, financial and marketing model and a demonstrated competency in the management of such a facility.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is April 17.
