Petrochemicals company Total South Africa has achieved a Level 1 broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) rating.
Total has since 2003 implemented a dedicated transformation strategy, which includes 52% black ownership, skills development programmes, preferential procurement, enterprise and supplier development programmes, as well as social economic initiatives.
Total South Africa CEO and MD Pierre-Yves Sachet noted that a truly transformed business was the only way South Africa could prosper.
