Project Description
Sun International plans to relocate its casino at Morula, in North West, to a new large-scale mixed-use and urban entertainment destination in Menlyn, Pretoria.

The proposed gaming, entertainment and conference facilities to be developed by Sun International be complemented to the Menlyn Maine project.

Time Square at Menlyn Maine will offer a five-star hotel, with 100 luxury rooms and ten suites; a conference centre; an indoor entertainment arena seating 8 000 people; a diverse range of retail shopping stores, bars and restaurants, with parking for 2 785 vehicles; and a state-of-the-art casino, built to the latest design and technology standards and accommodating up to 2 000 slot machines and 60 tables.

Architecturally, the building will be covered in glass to give it a contemporary feel. The arena will have a dome-like appearance, with the high-rise hotel setting the backdrop for the development.

The new development will create as many 2 200 jobs.

The project will cost an estimated R3.65-billion to implement.

The project started construction in 2014 and was completed in 2018.
