Thermal inkjet printer simplifies industrial printing

Coding and marking is the method of printing essential product and traceability information onto packaging, labels and other manufactured goods and materials. These include barcodes, serialisation codes and expiry or ‘best by’ dates.

A thermal inkjet (TIJ) printer has been designed for rapid, efficient case coding. It produces high-resolution text, logos and high-density graphics on fast-moving production lines in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, among others. With a stainless steel casing and industrial-grade printheads, the printer is intended for use in a variety of industrial settings, including those with dusty, humid or corrosive conditions.

The 1200 thermal inkjet printer from Markem-Imaje is locally represented by Pyrotec PackMark and is able to print codes up to 203 mm. Its bulk ink delivery modules are available in 680 ml, 1 360 ml or 2 720 ml sizes. It prints images one to 600 horizontal dpi in increments of one and offers 100% readable barcodes at high production rates. The printer has a 6.7” touch screen with intuitive, ‘what you see is what you get’ or WYSIWYG interface, and snap-in, snap-out cartridges.
